Our Story
A LA Orden Interior Designs started because of frustration and a little bit of rebellion. Our founder, Elena Vasquez worked for years at design companies where they cared more about what other designers thought than what the people who lived there wanted. They did projects just to follow the trends. They spent much money just to say something was luxury. The people who actually lived in these spaces did not matter much to them. A LA Orden Interior Designs is different because we think about the people who live in the spaces we design. Elena thought that there must be a way to do things. She wanted to make things that looked really good and also worked well for people. The person who lived in the house should be the one who decided what it looked like, not the designer. So Elena got a group of people who thought like her. They started working together. They were going to change the way people did design. Elena and her team were going to make design about the client like the person who lived in the house and what they liked. They were going to make sure that interior design was, about the clients personality and what made them happy. We began with a studio and just a few designers who really cared about what they did. Now our Design studio has grown into a group of people who work together. But one thing has not changed: we still believe that Design should be for people, not the way around. Design is supposed to help people that is what Design is, for.
Our early days were about people telling their friends about us and saying we were the designers who really listened. We were not like companies that just gave people the same old solutions. Instead we wanted to know all about our clients. We asked them what they did every morning, where they liked to go on vacation and what things they owned that were really special to them. We found out that the best projects were not the ones that looked great in a picture but the ones that felt right to the people who lived in them. We learned that it is really important to make sure the people who live in a house love it. That is what we focused on. Our clients and their homes were our priority and we made sure that every house was designed with the people who lived there in mind and that is what made our projects so successful the houses felt perfect, to our clients. That is when it hit us the thing that changed everything. We did not just want to make rooms look pretty we wanted to create spaces that people could really relax in like sanctuaries. As we did work and our portfolio of projects grew our belief that design could be a positive thing got stronger. We began working with artisans using materials that are good for the environment and focusing on making things that will last rather than following trends that will be gone soon. We wanted design to be a force for good. That is what we were aiming for with our design to make a positive impact, with our design.
A LA Orden Interior Designs is not a company that designs homes. It is something. We have helped all sorts of people. We have worked with people who are buying a home for the time. We have worked with people who have a lot of experience buying art and other things. We have helped families who need a home that’s functional. We have helped people who are living alone and want to make their home feel new again.
Each home we have worked on has taught A LA Orden Interior Designs something.. One thing is always the same. The best homes are the ones that feel like they have been a part of your life, for a time.
